Muazu Adamu, professionally known as Black Fab and also recognized by his cultural alias "Egwu," is a Nigerian Afro-hip-hop artist and entrepreneur of Igala descent. Born in the military barracks of Kaduna and a native of Ankpa, Kogi State, his identity is deeply rooted in culture, spirituality, and street consciousness. The name Egwu, meaning “Masquerade” in Igala, reflects his role as a cultural messenger through music.
Raised across Lagos and Abuja, Black Fab absorbed diverse musical influences that have shaped his sound. His educational journey included Awodiora Olodo Apapa and GSS Karu Abuja, before studying Political Science at Kogi State University. He began recording professionally at Goshen Studio in Abuja, laying the foundation for his rise in the Afrobeats scene.
Black Fab started his music career in 2007 and gained mainstream attention in 2009 with the street anthem "Sip Bottle" featuring Terry G. His sound fuses northern grit from Kaduna with southern rhythms from Lagos and Abuja. Some of his notable releases include "Ukpokpu" (Masquerade), "Pray for Me" featuring Patoranking and Ycee, "Good Morning Africa," "Oyoyo" featuring TML Vibes, and "I Like Am." In 2025, he released his debut EP "Big Masquerade," described as a movement of spirituality and self-awareness.
Beyond music, Black Fab is the CEO of Sound Yard, a winner of the Nescafé Get Started Africa initiative, and founder of We Are Kogites (WAKOGITES), promoting unity among Kogi indigenes globally.
